Hello! We are Ben and Beth VanHoose, owners of 66 Trains. This is our first business venture, and we are loving it!

We specialize in HO and N Scale model trains and accessories. Please note that we do not stock Lionel, O27, and larger gauges/scales on a regular basis. We do have a few Lionel train sets in stock.
We have made Kingman our home since 2008. We are both from the Midwest, Ben from Indiana, and Beth from Missouri. GO CHIEFS!
Ben is the face of 66 Trains. He is a former railroad engineer and conductor. During his 15-year railroad career, he worked for CSX, CNUR (Connersville & New Castle Railroad), Watco/Kansas City Terminal Railroad and Patriot Rail/Kingman Terminal Railroad. He has also been a model railroad enthusiast since he was a young boy, a long, long time ago. Opening 66 Trains is the culmination of a lifetime’s interest in trains, big and small. He currently has an HO scale layout at home, focusing on Nickel Plate and N&W in the 70’s.
Beth recently retired from Kingman Unified School District after 12 years, so she will be at the store most days as well. Her interest in model railroading began when she met Ben. She is currently working on an N scale layout, modeling ATSF along Arizona’s Route 66, as she imagines it would have been in the 1950s and 60s. She also sells vintage, antiques and collectibles in the store, at a local mall, and online. She is a member of the Kingman Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Kingman Area School Retirees Association.
We currently have 2 dogs, Terry and Toby, and you may see one or more occasionally at the store. The 3rd dog pictured, Whitley, crossed the Rainbow Bridge in October 2024.
